According today's article in Herald Biz, Rhie Won-bok says:

"During my ten years living in Germany I visited concentration camps and I know as well as anybody how much the Jews suffered and how cruel the Nazis' barbarity was."
"I have no bias of any kind against Jews and I have always opposed racism." Starting with the next edition he plans to replace the problem portions.

Pardon me, Mr. Rhie, but that is demonstrably not true. Also, no one called you a Holocaust denier. I think what you learned during your ten years in Germany is classic antisemitic conspiracy theory, plain and simple.

Rockefeller was the top American conglomerate. There is ongoing dispute about whether or not he was a Jew but the matter is not clear. But the reason he is mistaken for a Jew is that his enterprise technique was exactly the same as the Jews. His number one business rule was to destroy the competition. He used intrigue, tricks, threat, menace, and naturally he mobilized industrial spies to steal information from his competition. He used bribery, violence, and to top it all he didn't hesitate to sabotage companies. This was cold hearted industrialist who cruelly knocked down the competitors who faced him.

After that the Rothschild family financed the construction of the Suez Canal in 1875. After World War 1 ended they pressured the British government with money.

This resulted in the Balfour Declaration, promising the construction of a Jewish State.

After World War 2, Rothschild financed huge amounts of money for the construction of the Israeli nation. Rothschild even spread into Eastern Europe and South America. They [unclear whether he's talking about the Jews or the Rothschilds] came to rule the world's finance and industry. The backlash and hatred against the Jews who use their money as a weapon to shake domestic and international politics burst forth like
a dam.
Antisemitism spread throughout the whole of Europe. The national
terror that was abuse of that anger in domestic politics was Hitler's massacre
of the Jews.
Hitler: "Jews, who ruin their host like parasites, must
disappear from the earth."

Note that there is no scale given to Hitler's massacre of the Jews. It's called terror[ism], which probably makes it sound like it was a) not so large scale and b) meant to scare the Jews he did not massacre.

He has this offhand way of implying that someone is a Jew, which serves as both an explanation of that person's actions and further proof that Jews are bad.

(총대리인). In New York he established J. P. Morgan Bank. J. P. Morgan Bank, thanks to Rothschild's massive funding power, was quickly able to rise to the strongest position in American finance.

The West, and especially Europe, consider themselves better and the Easter (orient) remainder of the world uncivilized and inferior. The core of Orientalism is the whites of Europe and America's justification for ruling the world. What is the most representative instance of Orientalism?

They (Europe) use themselves as the standard to judge the rest of the world
and consider the East mysterious. Using whites as the measuring stick

The above is my translation of the Korean translation of the original, which was written in Jean-Paul Sartre's Preface to Frantz Fanon's "The Wretched of the Earth", in which he writes "[A]ll of us without exception have profited by colonial exploitation. This fat, pale continent ends by falling into what Fanon rightly calls narcissism. Cocteau became irritated with Paris — ‘that city which talks about itself the whole time’. Is Europe any different? And that super-European monstrosity, North America? Chatter, chatter: liberty, equality, fraternity, love, honour, patriotism and what have you. All this did not prevent us from making anti-racial speeches about dirty niggers, dirty Jews and dirty Arabs. High-minded people, liberal or just soft-hearted, protest that they were shocked by such inconsistency; but they were either mistaken or dishonest, for with us there is nothing more consistent than a racist humanism since the European has only been able to become a man through creating slaves and monsters."

But it's not just Europeans. Americans are also thoroughly enslaved by orientalism.

The leader of the trend is none other than Hollywood movies. Like when England made its colony India inferior and whites superior . . . (영국이 식민지 인도를 열등화 하여 백인을 우월한 존재로 만든 것처럼). . . even in Nobel Prize winner Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book . . . (captions state "Mowgli is smart because he's a white child. The natives are on the same level as animals."). . . and in African Tarzan's story, too, whites are great and colored people (유색인) are inferior. (Caption states "Tarzan is white so he can teach himself how to read books. He gets together with white Jane.)
Hollywood movies play a decisive role in this propaganda and brainwashing. These movies were so magic that when a scene of early 20th century imperialism in which an American commander played by Charlton Heston penetrated into Beijing, it made even the victim Eastern audience (피해자인 동양의 관객들) cheer.

This is a reference to the movie 55 Days at Peking, in which Heston leads a multinational force going to Beijing to save the foreigners being held captive in the city by the Boxer rebellion.

Hollywood portrayed the Native Americans as savage and warlike and the whites as righteous and the embodiment of bravery. Even subject peoples clapped for the white side (피지배 민족까지 백인 편에 박수를 보내게 한 무서운 힘을 발휘했지).

In the 1940s the world viewership of films reached 10 billion. In America, 4 billion movie ticket were sold. Of the world's 67,000 movie theaters, 17,000 of them were in America, sohow explosive do you think Hollywood's power was?

Here is more of Chapter 8 of Monnara Iunnara (먼나라 이웃나라) Volume 10, dealing with the Jews. On page 225, author Rhie Won-bok was discussing the depredations that the Jews underwent, including prohibition from owning land and engaging in commerce or industry.

To top it all, They were forced to wear a badge indicating they were Jews. The Nazi oppression we've seen in movies had been going on since long before. They were forbidden from owning land and building farms.

I had not been aware that this practice had such a long history.

What could the Jews, forbidden from commerce and industry, do for a living? Eventually there was nothing left for them to do except usurious lending and finance. (결국은 돈장사, 즉 금융업이나 고리대금업밖에 없었지.)

This was because Christians thought loaning money to their coreligionists for interest was a sin. It was the dirtiest profession and they would not touch it. So naturally Jews became the high interest lenders (고리대금업자), and again the hatred against Jews increased. The Jews earning money with money, lent money to kings and monarchs and gained all sorts of concessions. The nobility and the ruling class's hatred and wariness of Jews reached new peaks in the end of the 19th century. Antisemitism (반유대주의) grew stronger, eventually leading to Hitler's massacre of the Jews.

This is how Jewish history came to be stained with bitter tears (lit. tears of blood). Heated steel gains strength the longer you pound it. So the Jews grew more united and stronger the bigger their trials and pains. Our people (i.e. Koreans) experienced the pain of invasion several thousand times. We developed a strong and indomitable tenacity and mental strength. And yet still our land was stolen from us for more than 35 years [clear from the cartoon that he is referring to the Japanese colonial period].
But for 2000 years the Jews wandered, facing all kinds of want and oppression. They banded together with their religion. They helped each other and tightened their community with their Jewish mentality (유대의식). They were as strong as it was difficult for other peoples to defeat them, The Jewish religion is a mental rope that binds them together as a people. That is the true nature of the Jews.

Chapter 8: One Must Know the Jews to Truly See America

I was originally planning to translate the book from cover to cover in order. This morning I was flipping through the book on the bus and I got sucked into the eighth chapter, which deals with the history of Judaism. When I set out to translate this book I expected to find some interesting perspectives or factual errors. Instead I've found a full-on anti-Semitic polemic, and various other dubious comments about race which I'll get to later. Without further ado, Chapter 8: One Must Know the Jews to Truly See America: Jews, the powerful force that moves America. My comments are in italics this color, particularly interesting portions are in red.

Among all the countries of the world, there is only one race in which a majority of the people don't live in their country of origin (본국), and that is the Jews.

Cartoon Chinese man: "China = The country where 95% of the people are of the Han nationality."
Cartoon Chinese man: "The largest population of people living outside their home country is the 40 million Chinese who live abroad. But that's only 0.3% of their home country's 1.3 billion people."
Israel has a population of 6.2 million. There are 6.5 million Jews in the U.S.
The nationless race of Jews (나라 없는 민족 유대인) were chased out of their homeland of Palestine in 70AD. They spread throughout the whole world for almost 2000 years.

Is this accurate? I was led to believe that the majority of American Jews come from Eastern and Central Europe.

The Jewish race, that advanced from Africa to China, share something with the Chinese, in that there is not a corner of the world in which either has not set down roots.
In all the world, Korea is the only place where the Jews failed to set down roots.

It's impossible to know which of the two races is the most "severe" (or harsh or sharp, "어쩌 보면 두 민족은 전세계에서 가장 '지독한' 민족일지도 몰라")
We Koreans, who are hard-working and diligent and are sad to come in second, can amass great victories in America with our competitive spirit. But in the end each and every time we hit a barrier, and that barrier is the Jews.

We Koreans, who don't know how to lose to any other race . . .

". . . [We] can never surpass the wall of Jews in American society."

This is not only true of Koreans: Every other race and ethnicity has this in common.

Jews make up slightly more than 2% of the American population. They control American finance and naturally the American economy controls the world economy. They twist the media to their own ends and control the world of politics. They pilot the U.S. government from behind the scenes and they even have world politics wrapped around their finger (좌지우지). They have a monopoly on Hollywood and paint a picture of the Jewish people as virtuous victims. They play the part of herald for the message that the Arabs and Muslims that they oppose are a barbarous and violent mass.
In a word, the whites at the heart of America are called WASPs (White Anglo-Saxon Protestants). . .

". . .but the real group that controls America through money and media pressure is the Jews."

So if you don't understand the Jews, you'll never understand America.

So what kind of people are the Jews? The Jews and their current implacable enemies the Arabs are sister races, both find their roots in the Semitic language family. They both draw their ancestry from their earliest forebear Abram or Abraham. According to the old testament, Abraham's great-grandson Judah lent his name to the Jews. Jews differed from other Arab peoples in their belief in the single god Yahweh.

So he's saying that the Jews are a kind of Arab, just to be clear here.

They believe that the Jews were chosen by God and that some day God would send a messiah, i.e. a savior, to save the Jewish people from hardship. The Jews clashed strongly with neighboring peoples over their belief that they were the chosen people, their monotheism and their belief in a Messiah. Even worse, their refusal to accept the gods of the invading Romans proved to be a huge stumbling block. Eventually in 70AD, they were expelled from their homeland.

This is called the Diaspora, in which the Jews were chased out of their homeland, Palestine, by the Romans.

The book does use the word Isreal in cartoons depicting the modern state of Isreal. but whenever referring to the origin of Jews it uses the term Palestine, insinuating that Isreal is a modern invention, I imagine.

From then on it was all sorrow for the Jews. They were the target of hatred and oppression as a parasite race living in other people's lands. The Jews spread out to all the compass points, but there were two main groups. One group followed the Arabian conquest of the old Roman Empire into Spain and
Portugal. The other is the group that scattered into Germany and Central Europe.
The Jews of Spain and Portugal and the Arab world are called
Sefaradim. The Jews of Germany are called Ashkenazim. Even
today there are two religious leaders, one for each group. The Sefaradim and Ashkenazim existed in equal numbers during the
Middle Ages, but in 1492, Spain issued a complete order of deportation and the Sefaradim numbers fell.

Up until World War 2, their population didn't pass 1.5 million
out of a total 16.5 million Jews.

During World War 2, Nazi Germany achieved the slaughter
of 6 million Jews. They killed 1/3 of the world's Jews in
this act of barbarity. But why would Christians hate Jews so much?

This is nearly the only reference to the holocaust in the book.

The first reason is that in their religion, central figures say that the Jews killed Jesus, but that's ridiculous. Jesus was a Jew, and his first believers were Jews. That's just an excuse for hating Jews. The second and biggest reason for hating Jews is that they will never give up their religion and reject Christianity, because they believe they are the chosen people and that a Messiah is coming.
To make them a groveling race, they were not allowed to own land. They couldn't join clubs or engage in commerce and industry. They were gathered together and made to live in ghettos.

There's plenty more on it's way. The general gist is that the Jews are a particularly unpleasant kind of Arab from Palestine twisted by years of oppression into a malevolent and unbeatable force.
